Uliango Brand Story

The goal of Uliango is to teach Chinese as a second language and share Chinese culture with students from around the world. Chinese learners choose Uliango for a variety of reasons: because they want to live or travel in China, they want to learn more about China’s history and culture, or they want to do business with Chinese companies. Regardless of why a person is learning Chinese, Uliango offers a tailored approach and high-quality service.

Uliango’s founder brings an international perspective and uses a range of teaching materials. In discussing the origins of certain Chinese characters, trending news stories and topics, Chinese history and culture, and China’s many cultural attractions, Uliango aims to spark students’ interest and passion for learning Chinese. Uliango helps students learn by focusing on the areas that interest them most.

The logo design concept

The outer ring represents the global community and in the center is the name Lian. There are dashes on either side of the name Lian which connect to the outer ring and are meant to illustrate the bridge between China and the Chinese language with the rest of the world.

Lian comes from the Chinese character 莲 and is part of the founder of Uliango’s name. 莲 comes from the word for lotus (莲花 lián huā), a flower that has inspired poets and painters for thousands of years. The pink color of the logo was chosen to reflect the color of the lotus.

The word Lian can also mean connection (连). There’s a Chinese poem
海内存知己,天涯若比邻 which means that a close friend can help make the other side of the world feel like it’s right next door. By bringing Chinese culture to the world, Uliango aims to build this form of connection and create a space for Chinese language learners to enjoy the charm of China’s culture and language wherever they are.
